Welcome to The Ignite Greensboro [got two?] Project Website!
The Ignite Greensboro Project serves as the first student-led, student-run and student-built project of its kind. The project is a result of the lack of energy within the college community to get involved outside their respective institutions. Although the driving force behind the project in its conception was the International Civil Rights Center and Museum, the idea to “ignite” change in the community however is still effervescently present. Scholarships, community building projects and speaker engagements govern this project to date. Our goal and purpose is to get students involved and aware of the culture and history of Greensboro and involved in many different avenues. The project is currently working on an oral history documentary, a black and white photographic interpretation entitled the Black Marker Project, and a benefit concert series. Students have an opportunity to get involved in any and many more areas of the project, promising them a chance to learn more about Greensboro, North Carolina.
